Originaly excavated for gravel around 50 Years ago, Etang de Janine is the Gem of the Loir valley, hidden away in the heart of French tranquility, nestled in between three other lakes and hugged by the picturesque Loir river, Janine is the perfect venue to come to for your French Carping holidays. A venue prepared by an euthusiastic carpist for the travelling angler. Arable farmland, and woods making up the surrounding boundaries. At 8.6 Hectares, 18 acres, tree lined with plush grassy banks. 14 swims have been stragetically placed around the lake consisting of singles, doubles and trebles. You can park your car behind every swim and also have room for caravans and large family tents, bbq's are left behind swims with large stone picnic tables to make your outdoor meal more enjoyable.Two rowing boats are at hand to use and we also allow bait boats.*

Features

Being a gravel pit the bottom is made up of patches, bars, plateaus, broken ground, silt holes and flats with a few tree stumps and light weed beds scattered around the margins. Natural food is in abundunce so choose your bait wisely, good boilies, pellets, tigers,maize and hemp all produce well. Come the height of summer the lake still holds an impressive amount of water to fish to, 2m average with deeper gullies`of 3m still to be found. 25m from the bottom bank in 2 meters of water there lies a stone as big as a car!, with gravel shooting off to the plateau and beyond. Marker rods are a must as fishing here is like an English style pit and fishing blind does not always pay off.

Don't ignore the margins as they produce a massive amount of fish!!

Onsite

On arrival, your bait orders will be ready for you, we give 5ltr water in a new container to each angler, meals can be delivered direct to your bivvy, Life jackets are available in the event of boat work. If you have fresh bait we can pop it straight in the freezer for you along with any food you have brought, we also give a 1.5ltr bottle of ice daily, once placed in your coolbox this keeps all the contents cold all day, small silent petrol generators are available for use, we can charge phones, batteries for your boats ect, we have a small hut where you can cook meals with an oven or microwave. Shower and toilet on site with 2 bikes to save time.

Local Amenities

Vouvray-sur-Loir is the local village, bar + chambre d'hotes Coemont, 2 mins away there is a tabac and bakery, and a brand new L'eclerc Hypermarche.
